Winter fun

Away from the slopes

Have you already tried out the many possibilities away from the slopes? The gorgeous winter landscape invites you to discover nature in its beautiful blanket of glistening white whether it’s with tobogganing or a sleigh ride! Access to all huts is possible by taxi. Local traffic is to be expected on the toboggan routes. Please be aware of the tobogganing times!

Tobogganing

Racing down into the valley on a sled? Do you know how much fun a toboggan ride can be? No? Then it’s high time to come to Tux! Three natural toboggan runs – Grieralm, Höllensteinhütte, and Bichlalm – invite you to go tobogganing even after dark. So that the trip up the mountain isn’t too strenuous, toboggan taxis will take you to rustic huts, where you can stock up on energy with delicious treats as well as warm tea or even schnapps.

Winter hiking in the Tuxertal

68 km of winter hiking trails, some of which have been flattened or cleared, ensure variety. The winter hiking paths on the Eggalm, Penken, or Sommerbergalm are a challenge – and rustic huts and panoramic restaurants with Zillertal specialties await you as a reward. If you prefer to enjoy the view more comfortably, you can take the cable cars to individual mountain stations. Hiking is physical exercise. It strengthens the muscles, tendons, and ligaments and stimulates circulation as blood is being pumped throughout the body.
