Hiking in Tux
A breathtaking high mountain landscape for young and old, hiking opportunities for the whole family, and scenery that delights everyone. Lush alpine meadows, rustic huts, and emerald mountain lakes as far as the eye can see. Activate your senses and experience nature. Enjoy the Tuxertal in Tyrol! A small piece of paradise with 350 km of hiking paths up to an elevation of 3250 m is just waiting to be discovered.
The Zillertal Alps offer a variety of diverse hiking and mountain tours. There are a total of fifty-five 3,000 m high summits to choose from. Select your own favorite tour! Each tour is a unique experience and so impressive that you will certainly have to experience more than just one while on vacation in the Tuxertal.
Of course, what would hiking be without stops for refreshments! In the Zillertal Alps, there are a variety of cozy, rustic alpine or mountain huts with traditional Tyrolean specialties. Recharge your batteries with a snack and enjoy wonderful views. Our personal recommendation is Bergrestaurant Eggalm, the rustic Brandalm, or the Lattenalm.
Exploring the Hintertux Glacier
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (July - September) an experienced glacier guide from the Tuxertal ski school will take you on an exciting trip on the Hintertuxer Glacier. At a spectacular altitude of 3,250 m you will get to know the surrounding mountain world and be able to enjoy the breathtaking views. Walk on millennium old glacial ice, past powerful, turquoise ice cracks, and discover interesting facts about the birth and creation of our glacier.
Nordic Walking in the Idyllic Tux Mountains!
Athletic whole-body training on the one hand and the experience of Tyrolean landscapes on the other are made possible by "walking with sticks". In order to have fun from the start, we recommend an introductory course with a nordic walking trainer. The nordic sport active center is located in Tux, the alpine valley at the foot of the Hintertux glacier. This ideal altitude offers the perfect preconditions for sport and nature lovers! The idyllic mountain and glacier landscape (1,300 - 3,250m) with healthy mountain air offers in summer 80 km nordic walking paths and 350 km marked hiking trails.
